Maximising Blog Content: A Guide to Repurposing for Saving Time & Brand Visibility.

10 ways to repurpose blog posts.

Creating content that resonates with your audience is key to building your brand's online presence, but honestly, it's a chore to keep doing it from scratch.

It’s time-consuming, and if marketing isn’t your only job in the business, it takes away important time you could be spending on important tasks like networking and nurturing leads.

The solution? Repurposing.

You’ve likely heard the phrase before, and often, blogs can be used as macro (anchor) content to create content across various platforms and formats. This strategy not only amplifies your message but also extends the reach of your content, ensuring that your business remains at the forefront of your industry.

But it’s not the only thing you can do with the blog post.

Here are 10 other uses for that blog post that create valuable assets that support your business goals.

Transforming Blog Content into Online Courses

Online course material stemming from blog posts can establish your business as a thought leader in your niche. By packaging your in-depth blog content into comprehensive online courses, you create an additional revenue stream while providing immense value to your audience. This approach not only leverages your existing content but can also enhance your brand's authority and credibility. A full-on paid course might not be the right fit for every business, but a mini course of solid information in easy action steps can make a great lead magnet to help you build your email list.

eBooks and Interactive PDFs

Interactive PDFs and eBooks offer a really dynamic way to repurpose blog content. You’ve done so much hard work in writing the blog post; it's a shame to waste it! If you transform your blog posts into downloadable resources that serve as lead magnets, they can continue to attract potential customers to your email list. This direct line of communication allows for more touch points with your potential buyer, and can be a much more personalised experience, increasing the likelihood of converting leads into loyal customers.

Guest Podcasting: Expanding Your Reach

Repurposing blog topics into guest podcasting content can open doors to new audiences. Organic content and SEO blogging are effective, but they are the long game, as you are building your own audience. Being a guest on someone else's podcast will leverage their audience, making it far easier to grow your business and reach new people. By sharing your expertise on established podcast platforms, you tap into their listener base, expanding your reach and influence. Use the blog post as a starting point, create bullet points of all key points you cover, and you’ll have a structure to cover in a podcast episode.

Engaging Your Audience with Challenges and Quizzes

Utilising blog content to create challenges or quizzes for your social media followers is an innovative way to boost engagement. It's not as straightforward as creating a Facebook post, but it's worth the effort when you do! Challenges encourage your community to take action, participate and share, and can help enhance your brand's visibility. (Not to mention getting their email address for your list when they sign up for a formal challenge.) Similarly, quizzes offer a fun and interactive way to engage users, providing valuable insights into your audience's preferences and a good way to sort your email list into segments that you can market appropriately.

Facebook Live or Q&A Sessions

Of course, the blog post can become social media content, but you can use it for Facebook Live or Q&A sessions- they offer a more direct way to engage with your audience in real-time. Yep, it can feel weird at first doing them. There is no do-over, but the benefit of your audience having a direct interaction with you is worth it! They also allow for immediate feedback and engagement, creating a stronger sense of community and a chance for you to see quickly what your audience is really like. It's an opportunity to answer questions, delve deeper into your blog topics, and show the faces behind the brand, enhancing the overall customer experience.

LinkedIn Articles

Transforming your blog content into LinkedIn articles allows you to demonstrate thought leadership. LinkedIn's platform is ideal for establishing yourself or your brand as a leader within your industry. By sharing your expertise through articles, you're able to expand your professional network, increase your visibility, and potentially open doors to new business opportunities. It is my favourite use of my blog posts, and I have grown my LinkedIn article subscribers to over 1100 readers without any other work, and I get the privilege of being in their inbox twice a month.

Email Newsletters: Engaging Your Audience with Digestible Insights

Similar to the LinkedIn article, blog content in email newsletters is a strategic approach to maintaining regular communication with your audience. They don’t need to wait for social media to serve it up in their feed, nor do they have to search for you. It arrives right in their inbox! It is a reminder of your brand's presence and expertise, enticing readers back to your website for more in-depth exploration. It’s the place to tell your stories! By summarising or highlighting key points from your recent posts and relating them in a way your audience can connect to, you offer value directly in their inbox, reinforcing brand loyalty and driving consistent website traffic.

Webinars: Deep Diving into Topics with Live Engagement

Hosting webinars based on the comprehensive topics of your blog posts positions you as an authority in your field. Granted, this isn’t a quick repurpose, but it is worth considering if running webinars to drive traffic is in your strategy. It’s an interactive format and, like Facebook Lives, allows for real-time engagement with your audience, offering them a platform to ask questions, provide feedback, and engage directly with your content. Webinars are exceptional for deepening your audience's understanding, providing detailed insights, and showcasing your expertise on a personal level. It is also a well-used tactic for getting leads; in fact, when I signed up for my most recent 1:1 coaching program, I went on a webinar to learn more. It really works!

Creating Animated Explainer Videos

Animated explainer videos or voiceover presentations based on blog content present complex information in an easily digestible format. They can be a little longer to create than an Infographic say, but these videos enhance understanding and retention, making your content more accessible and appealing to a wider audience. They give you another way to present your information and another way for you to reach your audience.

In short, by repurposing your blog content across these strategic outlets, you not only maximise the value of your original content (and save a ton of time, too!) but also reinforce your brand message, attract new audiences, and support your business's growth objectives. Remember, the key to successful content repurposing lies in tailoring the format to suit the platform and audience, making sure that each piece of repurposed content aligns with your overall marketing strategy.
